Todd Rosenlieb Dance Fall Concert

  • November 1, 2014

We are a week away from Todd Rosenlieb Dance’s Fall Concert. Excitement is bubbling over in the studio as vocalists from Tidewater Opera Initiative (TOI), pianists Chuck Woodward and Lee Jordan-Anders, conductor Alan Fischer and cellist Jake Fowler join dancers in rehearsals in a stunning line up of renowned modern choreographers.A dynamic concert hitting on a range of emotions that will move the audience!

Liebeslieder Waltzes, choreographed by Todd Rosenlieb features a vocal quartet and a piano for four hands conducted by Alan Fischer. The German vocals evoke a range of human emotion, joy, excitement,  flirtation, heartbreak, & passion! I get chills just watching the rehearsals as dancers express the range of feeling. Nikolai McKenzie’s movements will captivate you in Escape Velocity, choreographed by guest artist Ryan Corriston. An exciting, post-modern, fast-paced and dynamically intense piece. The intrigue continues as guest choreographer, Starrene Foster of Richmond, VA engages audience imaginations with Apartment No. 9.  This piece is a physiological study of humans in the history of one apartment, Apartment No. 9. The World Premier of Curves and Lines, a Cello Solo, choreographed by Ricardo Melendez, is a full company piece featuring the vibrant and soulful sounds of the cello.
