BIOGRAPHY

Miranda began her dance training at age eight at Denise Wall’s Dance Energy as a member of the junior company, studying ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, flamenco, and hip hop.  She relocated to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in order to study with Marcia Dale Weary at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.

During her four years with CPYB, she was fortunate to dance many corps, soloist, and principal roles in both classical and Balanchine ballets, including Serenade, Divertimento No.15, Who Cares, Raymonda, George Balanchine’s Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppelia, Peter Pan, Hansel & Gretel, Carnival of the Animals, and more.  She studied at Virginia School of the Arts, Kirov Academy in Washington DC, San Francisco Ballet, Chautauqua Institution, as well as Boston Ballet on scholarship. Miranda began her professional career with Charlotte Ballet as both a trainee and an apprentice.  During her time with Charlotte Ballet, she had the opportunity to perform many original works, as well as choreograph new pieces for the affiliated dance academy.  Miranda then danced with Nevada Ballet Theatre in Las Vegas as a company artist.

As a dancer with NBT, she collaborated with Cirque du Soleil, performing original works created by Cirque Mystere choreographers.  She was also selected to choreograph a new work which was performed by the company.  Miranda has worked with Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, serving as a resident advisor to young dancers in their summer program. Most recently, in 2020, Miranda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Sentara College of Health Sciences, and is currently working as an orthopedic registered nurse at Sentara Leigh Hospital on a part-time basis while she continues her dance career.   She continues to teach ballet in a studio setting and also offers private lessons.  Miranda is thrilled to join TRD and VBT for her first season.
