Todd Rosenlieb

Founder and Artistic Director, Todd Rosenlieb began his professional career in 99 with the late modern dance choreographer Erick Hawkins. He was named Hawkins Company Director in 1995 at which time he staged and performed the last work of Hawkins titled Journey of a Poet with Mikhail Baryshnikov and the White Oak Project at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Todd holds a BA degree in Economics and English from Bucknell University and an MFA degree in Dance Performance & Choreography from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. His original choreography has been commissioned by Richmond Ballet, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Virginia Arts Festival, The Governor's School for the Arts, Goucher College, James Madison University, University of Richmond and an array of university dance departments across the nation. He has staged productions for Petula Clark and the Imani Quintet.
Todd has been honored by the Cultural Alliance of Greater Hampton Roads with an Alli Award, by the Norfolk Bureau of Cultural Affairs with an Arts Star Award and has served on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Norfolk Council. Todd Rosenlieb Dance has been honored by the Norfolk Arts Commission with an Innovators Award for its commitment to collaboration and in 2006 was recognized by the Norfolk Department of Development as one of the Rising 5 New Small Businesses.
Todd is a master Pilates Instructor and is Chair of the Dance Department of the Governor's School for the Arts and has been on faculty at Tidewater Community College. Todd is also the founder and director of Mixed Abilities in Motion (MixMo), a dance program for children and adults with disabilities. MixMo is celebrating 11 years of bringing dance to all.
